Accessibility

How the site is built for accessibility.

The pages are designed to follow WCAG 2.1 AA contrast and structure expectations. This page lists the practical choices behind that, and how to report a problem.

Keyboard and screen-reader use

  • Skip-to-content link on every page so keyboard users can bypass the header.
  • All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are reachable with Tab and have a visible focus ring.
  • Form fields have programmatic labels. Error messages are associated with the field they describe.
  • The mobile drawer closes with the Esc key, with a click on the backdrop, or with the close button.

Colour and typography

  • Body text uses a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background.
  • The site stays readable on a 200% zoom and reflows down to a 320px viewport.
  • Decorative images use alt="" and role="presentation" so assistive technology can skip them.

Languages

The pages are fully translated into Arabic. The Arabic version uses dir="rtl", mirrored layout and an RTL-aware typeface stack.

Reporting an accessibility issue

Write to support@platenumberup.org with the page URL and a short description of what did not work. We answer the same business day in most cases.
