Frequently asked questions

Ten plain answers about how the top-up service works, what it costs and what to do when something goes wrong.

How do I top up my UAE toll account through this site?

Open the top-up page, fill in the mobile number tied to the account, pick the emirate, vehicle category and plate code, enter the plate number and choose an amount in AED. Continue to the payment page, enter your Visa or Mastercard details and submit.

How long does the top-up take to appear on the toll account?

In most cases funds are visible on the toll account within a few minutes of a successful payment. During peak periods the bank-side settlement can take up to one business hour.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Visa and Mastercard issued in any country, as long as the issuer allows international AED-denominated payments. Other card networks are not supported at the moment.

Are there fees or hidden charges?

The top-up itself is processed without a service fee on top of the amount you choose. The optional balance check has a flat 1.50 AED fee. Your card issuer may apply its own foreign-currency conversion if your card is not denominated in AED.

What if the payment goes through but the funds do not arrive on the toll account?

Contact support with your order reference. We trace the payment with the bank-side network and either credit the toll account or reverse the payment to the original card. See the refunds page for the timing.

Is it safe to enter my card details?

The payment companion encrypts the connection with TLS and does not persist the full card number on our side. Card details are processed by the upstream payment network. See the security page for the technical detail.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in the cases described on the refunds page: payment captured but not credited to the toll account, duplicated payment, or proven plate-mismatch within 24 hours.

How do I contact support?

By email at support@platenumberup.org or through the form on the contacts page. Phone support is available during Dubai business hours.

Which toll accounts are supported?

UAE-issued road toll accounts linked to a plate from any of the seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Where can I use the topped-up balance?

At any UAE toll gantry that reads the tag linked to the account you topped up. The balance is held on the toll account itself; this site only forwards funds to it.
